Losing a franchise player who has been with your favorite team since the start of his/her career is a tough pill for any fan to swallow, but let’s not go crazy and start renaming cities, Oklahoma.

An Oklahoma City Thunder fan named Ryan Nazari has created a petition on Change.org to change the city of Durant, Okla., to Westbrook, after Kevin Durant left for the Golden State Warriors and Russell Westbrook received a contract extension from OKC.

And he appears dead serious.

“Ladies and gentlemen, the great state of Oklahoma has been betrayed,” Nazari wrote on Change.org. “As many of you know, Kevin Durant has left our state, torn out our hearts, and left our beloved Oklahoma City Thunder in depleted shape. All of this after even being offered a cabinet position for the State of Oklahoma.

“It is because of this heinous action that I believe the State of Oklahoma has a responsibility to change the name of the City of Durant to Westbrook, the man who is loyal, whom we believe in, and who will lead our team to glory. Yes, it is understood that the city Durant was not named after the evil Kevin Durant, but it is just another hideous reminder of what happened to our community. Support the Cause. #WestbrookOK”

The petition already has 918 supporters as of 9:59 p.m. ET on Thursday night, which is 82 short of the 1,000 goal.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
