Seth Rollins Rips Barclays Center Crowd After WWE SummerSlam Reaction

Seth Rollins walked away from the biggest party of the summer feeling disappointed.

Rollins, who lost his WWE universal title match against Finn Balor, took to Twitter shortly after Sunday night’s SummerSlam pay-per-view event to express displeasure with the crowd at Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

Since he’s a bad guy, Rollins going after the crowd could be just another way for him to garner heat and build his character. WWE superstars frequently use social media for reasons beyond advancing storylines, though, and it’s likely Rollins really was upset, as the crowd at SummerSlam wasn’t too enthusiastic about his match with Balor, which actually ended up being one of the event’s best.

Instead, the Barclays crowd seemed fixated on the newly created universal belt, which was on display for the first time ever, and letting WWE know how much they didn’t like it.

The end result was a rather awkward experience, when, in theory, crowning an inaugural universal champion should have been a landmark moment for the company, especially with Balor claiming the gold to cap a rapid ascent to the top.
