Remember this guy?

Pablo Sandoval largely has been out of the picture for the Boston Red Sox in 2016 since suffering a shoulder injury that ultimately required season-ending surgery. But the veteran third baseman showed his face Wednesday, joining the team at Tropicana Field ahead of its game against the Tampa Bay Rays.

Sandoval turned a few heads in the process, sporting a noticeably slimmer physique while doing some fielding work.

So, just how much lighter is Sandoval than the last time we saw him? According to WEEI.com’s Rob Bradford, the 30-year-old has lost 22 pounds.

Sandoval told Bradford he trains at the Red Sox’s spring training facility six times a week from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. and also mountain bikes 10 miles a day. He’s also focused on putting this disappointing season behind him.

“It’s tough,” Sandoval said, via WEEI.com. “But like I said you learn your lesson from all the mistakes you make. You’re human, you make mistakes. You have to put all the things in the past. So you have to work out and have good people around you to support you every single day. I’ve got that situation already, with my family around to support me every single day.”

Sandoval still has a long way to go to return to the form that earned him All-Star nods in 2011 and 2012, but it looks like he’s certainly on the right track.
