The swimming pool isn’t the only body of water that the United States has been dominant in throughout the last decade.

The U.S. women’s eight rowing team established itself as a dynasty after it took home its third consecutive Olympic gold medal in the event.

The Americans finished the course in 6:01.49, defeating silver medalist Great Britain and bronze medalist Romania by more than two seconds.

The United States now has won 11 consecutive world championship titles and Olympic gold medals in every women’s eight competition since 2006.
