The United States women’s national soccer team’s quest for Olympic gold is set to kick off.
Team USA will play New Zealand on Wednesday in the teams’ Group G opener of the women’s soccer tournament at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
The teams met at the 2008 and 2012 Olympics, with the United States winning both encounters en route to the gold medal. In this third Olympic meeting, anticipation for the Rio Games gives way to the excitement of competition.
