Kyrie Irving hit a clutch 3-pointer Wednesday to help Team USA avoid a huge upset, and that’s a good thing.
But forgive Draymond Green if the whole thing was just too much, too soon.
First, Irving’s heroics: With 1:35 on clock and the U.S. men’s basketball team leading pesky Australia by just four points, the All-Star point guard calmly stepped to his right and drilled a 3-pointer in front of Team USA’s bench that proved to be the dagger in a 98-88 win.

If Irving’s clutch bucket looks vaguely familiar, well, that’s because it’s almost identical to the mammoth shot he hit to help the Cleveland Cavaliers beat the Golden State Warriors in Game 7 of the NBA Finals.
Team USA, of course, is loaded with Warriors players who likely still have nightmares about Irving’s big bucket. Among them is Draymond Green, who took to Snapchat after the game to address the elephant in the room.
Green still looks a little salty, but he was able to swallow his pride to give Irving a nice congratulatory pat on the head. Good on the Warriors forward for putting NBA grudges aside in favor of some American spirit (and for putting his Snapchat to better use).
