Ben Simmons Injury: Joel Embiid, Sports World React To Devastating News
When it comes to foot injuries, no team has worse luck than the Philadelphia 76ers.
Ben Simmons, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft, suffered a fracture in his right foot during a practice scrimmage Friday, and there’s currently no timetable for his return.
Simmons joins an unfortunate list of recent 76ers draft picks who have dealt with. injuries. Nerlens Noel, the No. 6 pick in the 2013 NBA Draft, sat out his entire first professional season after tearing his ACL in college. Joel Embiid, who was drafted No. 3 by Philly in 2014, has yet to see the court during the regular season due to multiple foot injuries. And Jahlil Okafor, the No. 3 pick in the 2015 draft, missed the end of his rookie season after suffering a torn meniscus.
Embiid, though, still is using a familiar line after the latest setback for the 76ers.
Embiid was far from the only member of the sports world to react to this devastating news for Simmons and the Sixers.
Nobody said trusting the process would be easy. But this is getting cruel.
