The Buffalo Bills are growing impatient, so they made a major move after just two games.
No, the Bills aren’t firing head coach Rex Ryan — at least not yet — but the team on Friday axed offensive coordinator Greg Roman, according to multiple reports.
The Bills will promote assistant head coach and running backs coach Anthony Lynn to offensive coordinator, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported, citing a source.
The Bills are 0-2 after losing Thursday night at home to the New York Jets, and the offense hasn’t looked great despite scoring 31 points against their AFC East rivals. However, one of those touchdowns came on defense, and two more were big plays that weren’t indicative of an offense that didn’t reach the red zone until the fourth quarter.
Buffalo was offensively inept in Week 1 against the Baltimore Ravens. The Bills scored just seven points, gaining 160 yards of total offense and just 11 first downs.
The Bills hired Roman in January 2015 and made him the NFL’s highest-paid offensive coordinator.
