CM Punk fell flat at UFC 203, but his wallet got fat.

The two-time WWE champion was absolutely destroyed by Mickey Gall in Cleveland on Saturday’s main card, but MMA Fighting reports that the 37-year-old’s fight purse was nearly 20 times larger than Gall’s.

Punk raked in a $500,000 purse after losing via submission in just two minutes and 14 seconds to Gall, who only brought in $30,000 in his third career MMA fight.

To put Punk’s figure into more perspective, he made more than every other fighter at UFC 203, except for headliners Stipe Miocic and Alistair Overeem. Miocic brought in a flat $600,000 purse after defending his title belt against Overeem, who made $800,000.

Many people in the UFC circle weren’t happy with Punk getting a chance to fight in a lucrative main card without having any MMA experience. His poor performance only gave his detractors more fodder for criticism.

The reported purse does not include pay-per-view bonuses and endorsements.
