Everyone seems to have strong feelings about Colin Kaepernick’s decision to sit during the national anthem, and the Santa Clara police union is no exception.

In a letter sent to the San Francisco 49ers, the union threatened to boycott working 49ers games at Levi’s Stadium as a direct result of Kaepernick’s protest and controversial comments/actions involving police officers. The letter was obtained by NBC Bay Area, and reporter Ian Cull revealed its details on his Twitter feed.

As Cull pointed out, though, other police departments also work 49ers home games, so there still would be a law enforcement presence if the Santa Clara union boycotts.

It’s worth noting that some Santa Clara cops were accused of civil rights violations as recently as July, as Deadspin pointed out.
