Danny Amendola showed his patriotism before Sunday night’s New England Patriots season opener.
During the national anthem, NBC cameras showed the Patriots wide receiver grabbing a hold of the massive American flag that had been unfurled over the field at University of Phoenix Stadium.
Sunday’s game against the Arizona Cardinals was Amendola’s first appearance in a Patriots uniform since the 2015 AFC Championship Game. He sat out each of New England’s four preseason games as he recovered from offseason surgeries on his knee and ankle.
