David Ortiz, Mookie Betts Finalists For Players Choice Player Of The Year Award

The Boston Red Sox got some love from players throughout Major League Baseball.

The MLB Players Association announced the finalists for its Players Choice Awards on Friday, and Red Sox are under consideration for three different honors. Most notably, David Ortiz and right fielder Mookie Betts are finalists for Player of the Year, along with Houston Astros second baseman Jose Altuve.

Betts also is nominated for Most Outstanding Player with Altuve and Los Angeles Angels center fielder Mike Trout, and Rick Porcello is a finalist for Most Outstanding Pitcher in the American League with Cleveland Indians starter Corey Kluber and Baltimore Orioles closer Zach Britton.

The winners will be announced on MLB Network on Wednesday, Nov. 9, beginning at 8 p.m. ET. You can see the full list of finalists here.
