TPC Boston is known for its low scores during the Deutsche Bank Championship, and Friday’s first round was no different.

Ryan Moore and James Hahn are the co-leaders after shooting 6-under-par 65s, but 35 other golfers finished within three shots in what were ideal conditions in Norton, Mass.

Adam Scott, who won the Deutsche Bank Championship in 2003, is tied for seventh after shooting 4-under 67, as are Jim Furyk and Steve Stricker. Olympic silver medalist Henrik Stenson is among a stacked group at 3-under 68, along with Jimmy Walker, Dustin Johnson, Patrick Reed, Zach Johnson, Sergio Garcia and Jordan Spieth. Defending champion Rickie Fowler shot 2-under 69.

World No. 1 golfer Jason Day shot 1-under 70, but the main story surrounding his opening round involved a car accident his wife Ellie Day and his two children were in.

Phil Mickelson is among the golfers in danger of missing the cut at the second leg of the FedEx Cup playoffs after a disastrous 5-over 75.
