The number 500 has plenty of meanings in NASCAR.

There’s the Daytona 500, as well as races that last 500 miles or 500 laps. Greg Biffle has completed all of those, and on Saturday he’ll add another “500” to his long list of accomplishments.

Biffle is set to make his 500th career NASCAR Sprint Cup Series start at Richmond International Speedway. Only 37 drivers reached the 500-race mark, but that number will go up to 39 with Biffle and his former teammate Jamie McMurray.

The 2002 Xfinity Series champion made his first Cup start that same year, and in the years since, the driver of the No. 16 Ford has enjoyed the journey.

“I’m really excited about making my 500th start,” Biffle said in a statement. “It’s been a great ride and it’s amazing how fast the time goes by. I’ve got a lot of memories, wins, close races and fun times. I’ve won a lot of great races and look forward to running for that third championship.”

All but six of his starts have been with Roush Fenway Racing, with whom he’s won 19 Cup races.
