Johnny Manziel is “back” at Texas A&M, but you wouldn’t have found the former Heisman Trophy winner anywhere near the football field when the Aggies upset the No. 16 UCLA Bruins on Saturday.

Nor will you ever see him in a classroom on campus.

According to the Dallas Morning News and The Associated Press, Johnny Manziel enrolled in online classes for the fall semester at Texas A&M, and he’ll complete the courses from his home in Los Angeles.

After his release from the Cleveland Browns in March, Manziel experienced a tumultuous offseason marred by negative headlines (like this, this and this) and was indicated by a grand jury on a misdemeanor domestic violence charge.

An NFL return remains a long shot for Manziel, but it seems like he has his life somewhat together as he works toward completing his degree in recreation, parks and tourism sciences.
