Imagine walking down Newbury Street in Boston, stopping in for dinner at Shake Shack and seeing Julian Edelman glide up on a skateboard and walk in with you.

That was the scene during a feature from CBS before the New England Patriots’ “Thursday Night Football” game against the Houston Texans.

Apparently, it’s more than just a one-time deal for New England’s No. 1 wide receiver — a California native who stays true to his roots 3,000 miles and an NFL career later.

Check out the day-in-the-life look at Edelman below.

It’s a pretty cool sight to see — as long as you don’t think about the broken foot Edelman suffered last season or his status as the Patriots’ backup quarterback for Thursday’s game.

Cooler for Patriots fans, though, might be Edelman’s attitude toward living in Boston and playing for the Pats.

“Having the privilege of putting on the helmet and the pads … my passion’s in the game,” Edelman said. “Boston’s home now.”

Spoken like a true Patriot.
