The New England Patriots were off Tuesday, but they still were busy trying out free agents and making a transaction.

The Patriots worked out wide receiver Anthony Dable, guard Ian Silberman and defensive ends Davis Tull and Ryan Russell. The Patriots also released defensive back Mike Hilton from their practice squad. Hilton signed to the scout team last week.

Dable, 27, is French and played in European leagues from 2007 to 2016. He signed with the New York Giants on Feb. 17 but was released Sept. 3. The 6-foot-4, 220-pound receiver didn’t catch a pass in four preseason games.

Silberman was selected in the sixth round of the 2015 NFL Draft by the San Francisco 49ers out of Boston College. He was released by the 49ers on Aug. 27.

Russell was selected by the Dallas Cowboys in the fifth round of the 2015 NFL Draft out of Purdue. The 6-foot-5, 275-pounder played in one game his rookie season but didn’t record any stats.

Tull was selected in the fifth round of the 2015 NFL Draft by the New Orleans Saints out of Chattanooga. He didn’t appear in a game last season and was waived Sept. 3.
