BOSTON — The Red Sox welcomed an exciting young rookie back Tuesday, but they’re still rolling with the hot hand in left field.

Chris Young is batting seventh and playing left field for the Red Sox in the second of their three-game series against the Baltimore Orioles at Fenway Park. Outfielder Andrew Benintendi was activated off the 15-day disabled list Tuesday afternoon and will be available off the bench, as left fielder Brock Holt is not expected to play due to a sore right shoulder.

Young has been on absolute tear of late, going 4-for-4 in Monday’s 12-2 win over Baltimore to improve to 9-for-16 with three home runs in his last five games.

Travis Shaw will hit ahead of Young at No. 6 and play third base, replacing Aaron Hill. Ryan Hanigan will bat ninth and do the catching for Red Sox starter Drew Pomeranz, who is seeking his first win since Aug. 20. The 27-year-old left-hander has allowed three runs or fewer in seven consecutive starts but has taken the loss in two of his last three outings.

The Orioles will counter with right-hander Dylan Bundy, who has allowed five runs in three of his last five starts.
