UFC 205 at Madison Square Garden in November promises to be a thrilling event, and the fight card could be among the best of 2016 if Conor McGregor is the headliner.

According to Ariel Helwani of MMA Fighting, “multiple sources have confirmed that the Irishman is ready and willing to fight Eddie Alvarez for the lightweight title on Nov. 12 in New York City.”

McGregor last fought Aug. 20 when he defeated Nate Diaz in a rematch of their bout from March that Diaz won. Alvarez last fought July 7 when he won the UFC lightweight title by beating Rafael dos Anjos.

Instead of McGregor vs. Diaz III, it appears The Notorious will fight someone else. McGregor currently holds the UFC featherweight title.
