Tim Tebow officially is a baseball player.

Yes, you read that right. The former Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback who once won an NFL playoff game signed a minor league contract with the New York Mets on Thursday.

It’s important to keep in mind that this news doesn’t mean Tebow will play for the Mets soon, or ever. He’ll report to the instructional league, and he’s not able to participate in the 2016 MLB playoffs — if the Mets qualify — because he didn’t sign by the Aug. 31 deadline.

As you might imagine, Twitter was full of interesting takes and laughter regarding Tebow’s signing. Here’s some of the best.
