Antonio Brown Reportedly Forced By NFL To Change Muhammad Ali Cleats

Antonio Brown’s footwear choices keep irking the NFL.

The Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver was forced to remove his Muhammad Ali-themed cleats during Sunday’s Week 5 game against the New York Jets, CBS Sports sideline reporter Evan Washburn revealed during the game’s broadcast.

Brown, who also wore the cleats during warmups, rocked them for two series before an on-site official reportedly warned him that he wouldn’t be allowed to return to the game until he changed into uniform-conforming footwear.

Brown seemingly changed the cleats Sunday without any further issues, but this isn’t the first time he’s battled with the NFL. He was fined for wearing baby blue cleats in Week 1, and the league made Brown change his cleats at halftime of the Steelers’ Week 3 game against the Philadelphia Eagles. The four-time Pro Bowl wideout wore Arnold Palmer-inspired cleats last week.
