Ben Bishop Took A Shot Off His Mask, And His Teeth Paid The Price

Tampa Bay Lightning goaltender Ben Bishop probably has a few words he’d like say to his goalie mask: Do your job.

The Lightning beat the Toronto Maple Leafs, 7-3, Tuesday night, but Bishop managed to loose a couple teeth … even though his mask got in the way.

Bishop was visibly shaken while he looked for his missing teeth after making a save on Maple Leafs forward Peter Holland. But thanks to some help from the officials and his teammates, he was able to smile, if you can call it that.

Bishop played the rest of his game even after losing his chompers, because, you know, he’s a hockey player. He even took something positive out of it.

“It wasn’t really super painful or anything like that,” Bishop said via NHL.com.

“These guys in front of me lose teeth all the time, so I guess I just wanted to be like them.”
