Cam Newton Storms Out Of Another Press Conference After Panthers Loss

Frustration, once again, appears to be setting in for Cam Newton, and once again, hisĀ postgame reactions to said frustration are getting the headlines.

The Carolina Panthers quarterback saw his team drop to 1-5 with yet another disappointing loss Sunday, this one to the New Orleans Saints. Now the Panthers are faced with trying to become the first defending conference champion to lose five of its first six games and still make the playoffs.

A dejected Newton, looking like he was on the verge of tears and/or throwing a temper tantrum, took the podium after the loss but not for long. The quarterback dismissively answered questions before storming out of the press conference entirely after just a few questions.

Newton “answered” nine questions, and according to a transcript from the Charlotte Observer, he needed just 48 words to do so. Talk about efficiency.

Obviously, Newton’s press conference behavior Sunday brought up memories of his unforgettable showing after Super Bowl 50 earlier this season. Newton also high-tailed it out of harm’s way after a brief session with the media after the Panthers lost to the Denver Broncos.

Newton also took flak earlier in his career for his press conference reactions following a loss, so this might not be the last time we see the 2015 MVP acting like this.
