College Football Playoff rankings will be on the line for a pair of Atlantic Coast Conference squads this weekend, including the undefeated Clemson Tigers, who visit the Florida State Seminoles on Saturday as 4 1/2-point betting favorites at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.

Clemson improved to 7-0 with a 24-17 win over North Carolina State two weeks ago, and currently sits at No. 3 ahead of Saturday night’s Tigers vs. Seminoles betting matchup at Doak Campbell Stadium.

The Tigers failed to cover as 20-point home chalk in their win over the Wolfpack, but saw their national rankings stock rise following Ohio State’s stunning 24-21 loss to Penn State last weekend, which dumped the Buckeyes three positions to No. 6.

While Clemson owns an unblemished SU record this season, a big win is crucial with this season’s first College Football Playoff rankings scheduled for release next Tuesday.

The Tigers currently are on a 24-1 SU run, but have been streaky at the sportsbooks, covering in four of seven this season and just 10 of their past 20 overall, according to the OddsShark College Football Database.

The Seminoles enter the weekend at No. 12 in the national rankings following a 17-6 win over feisty Wake Forest two weeks ago. However, FSU has produced mixed results against Clemson, winning five of eight SU but covering in just two of seven.

The Louisville Cardinals also will have their eye on the CFP rankings when they visit the Virginia Cavaliers as massive 33-point road chalk. The Cardinals climbed to No. 5 following last weekend’s 54-13 destruction of the Wolfpack as 19-point chalk.

Louisville now has eclipsed the 50-point mark in five of its six SU wins, and covered as double-digit chalk in four of five. But like Clemson, the Cardinals must continue their dominant play to garner CFP consideration.

The 2-4 Cavaliers have lost two straight SU, but have regularly paid bettors with 10 ATS wins in their past 13 games, including last year’s date with Louisville when they covered as 13 1/2-point underdogs in a 38-31 loss.

In other Week 9 ACC action, No. 25 Virginia Tech looks to improve to 6-2 when it visits the streaky Pittsburgh Panthers as 3 1/2-point road chalk.

N.C. State looks to bounce back when it welcomes the Boston College Eagles as 15 1/2-point favorites, while the struggling Miami Hurricanes visit Notre Dame as 2 1/2-point favorites.

The Demon Deacons try to improve to 5-0 SU at home this season when they host the Army Black Knights as 6 1/2-point favorites, and Georgia Tech hosts Duke as 6 1/2-point chalk.
