From a statistical standpoint, few players have had better Major League Baseball careers than David Ortiz.

Heading into Sunday’s game against the Toronto Blue Jays, the Boston Red Sox designated hitter has 541 home runs, 632 doubles, 1,768 RBIs and a .931 OPS in his career. Oh, and he’s been pretty good in the postseason, too, with a .295 batting average, 17 home runs and 60 RBIs in 82 games.

Hear what NESN’s Dave O’Brien and Jerry Remy said about Ortiz’s career in the video from “Red Sox First Pitch” above.
