Fantasy Football Week 7 Waiver Wire: Best Pickups At Every Position
Week 6 of the NFL season featured several impressive performances from unexpected players, which is good news for fantasy football owners needing to use the waiver wire to fill holes on their roster.
Here are the best waiver-wire pickups for fantasy owners to target entering Week 7.
Quarterback: Case Keenum, Los Angeles Rams
Keenum has looked bad at times this season, but Sunday was a step in the right direction. He threw for a season-high 321 yards with three touchdowns and one interception. He has three straight games with 260 or more passing yards with a total of five touchdowns and three interceptions in that span. That’s not too bad for a bye week replacement, which is what Keenum should be used for in your league.
Other quarterbacks to pursue: Brian Hoyer (CHI), Sam Bradford (MIN), Colin Kaepernick (SF)
Running Back: Jay Ajayi, Miami Dolphins
Ajayi wasn’t owned in many leagues entering Week 6, but that’s about to change. He had the best game of his career in Week 6 with 202 yards and two touchdowns on 25 carries (almost twice his previous season high in rushing attempts). He’s established himself as the undisputed No. 1 running back on the Dolphins roster, making him a must-own going forward.
Other running backs to pursue: James White (NE), Bilal Powell (NYJ), Devontae Booker (DEN), DeAndre Washington (OAK)
Wide Receiver: Michael Thomas, New Orleans Saints
Almost all of Saints quarterback Drew Brees’ targets are worth owning because of the Saints’ passing production, and Thomas has tallied 50 or more receiving yards in four of five games, and he’s also caught a touchdown pass in three straight games. He’s a must-own in PPR and non-PPR leagues as a flex play.
Other wide receivers to target: Torrey Smith (SF), Kenny Britt (LA), Brandon LaFell (CIN)
Tight End: Vernon Davis, Washington Redskins
Redskins star tight end Jordan Reed missed Sunday’s game because of a concussion, and Davis was the beneficiary with two catches for 50 yards and a touchdown on four targets. The veteran tight end is worth owning for as long as Reed is sidelined or not receiving a full workload.
