The Boston sports scene added another big star to the mix this year, and he’s wasting little time getting himself acquainted.

All-Star big man Al Horford is the newest addition to the Boston Celtics and already has said how excited he is to come to Boston. He apparently also knows how to endear himself to the locals: by spending time with one of the greatest athletes in the city’s recent history.

That’s Horford hanging out Monday night with Boston Red Sox slugger David Ortiz, whose team has some down time before it takes on the Cleveland Indians in the American League Division Series.

Anyone who watched any baseball this past weekend knows what Ortiz means to this city, but the 40-year-old somehow became more of a fan favorite by wearing the jersey of New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, whose four-game suspension officially ended Monday.

In short: That’s a lot of Boston sports awesomeness in one photo.

Horford and Ortiz have a history, though; both are Dominican Republic natives, and according to Horford, Big Papi once saved the 30-year-old veteran’s wedding.

We’d say that’s enough to get invited to a cookout.
