Vontaze Burfict’s Hit On Martellus Bennett Wasn’t His Only Dirty Play Vs. Patriots

LeGarrette Blount was called for unnecessary roughness following his fourth-quarter touchdown Sunday. A review of the coaches’ film showed exactly what had the New England Patriots running back so heated.

After Blount crossed the goal line, Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict could be seen stomping on his right leg in the pile. Blount retaliated by shoving Burfict, which drew the flag.

Of course, that wasn’t the only questionable act Burfict committed during Sunday’s game, which the Patriots won 35-17. He also dove at the knees of Patriots tight end Martellus Bennett earlier in the fourth quarter — a play the NFL reportedly will review — and was involved in multiple post-whistle altercations with other New England players.

The league also will look into Burfict’s incident with Blount, according to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport.
