UPDATE (11:35 a.m. ET): Jimmy Garoppolo officially has been listed as inactive for Sunday’s game against the Buffalo Bills, meaning rookie Jacoby Brissett will make his second consecutive start at quarterback for the New England Patriots.

ORIGINAL STORY: After 10 days of questions surrounding the New England Patriots’ quarterback position, we finally have an answer.

Rookie Jacoby Brissett will start under center Sunday against the Buffalo Bills, a source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Jimmy Garoppolo, who started the first two games of the season before going down with a shoulder injury, will be inactive, per Schefter’s source.

With one game still remaining on Tom Brady’s Deflategate suspension, Brissett will be the Patriots’ only active quarterback Sunday. Wide receiver Julian Edelman will serve as his backup, per Schefter’s source.

Multiple outlets later confirmed Schefter’s report.

Brissett made his first NFL start last Thursday, completing 11 of 19 passes for 103 yards in a 27-0 win over the Houston Texans. The third-round draft pick also carried the ball eight times for 48 yards, including a 27-yard touchdown run.

Brissett suffered a right thumb injury in the win and was limited in practice this week. He was listed as questionable entering Sunday’s game.
