LeSean McCoy Injury: Bills Running Back Reportedly Out Week 7 Vs. Dolphins

LeSean McCoy has been one of the best running backs in fantasy football — and real football — this season.

UPDATE (Thursday, Oct. 20 at 8:45 p.m. ET): ESPN’s Josina Anderson reports McCoy won’t play Sunday when the Buffalo Bills take on the Miami Dolphins on the road. She also added that McCoy’s hamstring injury might force him to “miss more time thereafter, depending on healing.”

ORIGINAL STORY: The latest news could be devastating for both the Bills and fantasy owners alike: McCoy left Wednesday’s Bills practice with hamstring tightness.

It’s still unclear how severe the injury is or if it’s just precautionary, but any situation in which McCoy misses time obviously isn’t ideal. He also pulled his hamstring during the 2015 preseason and tore his MCL at the end of 2015, missing four games in total due to the injuries. He made the Pro Bowl in spite of those injuries, putting up 895 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns, plus 32 catches for 292 yards and two more touchdowns.

McCoy ranks second in the NFL in both rushing yards (587) and total touchdowns (seven) this season.

Should he miss Sunday’s game at the Miami Dolphins, Mike Gillislee would be the starter. The 25-year-old has scored touchdowns in consecutive weeks and has three total (two rushing, one receiving) on the season.
