Patriots Practice Report: Marcus Cannon, Brandon Bolden Among Absentees

FOXBORO, Mass. — The New England Patriots’ injury list is growing by the day.

Offensive tackle Marcus Cannon (calf) was newly absent during Thursday’s Patriots practice. Running back Brandon Bolden (knee), linebacker Shea McClellin (concussion) and defensive tackle Vincent Valentine (back) remained out of practice after missing Wednesday’s session.

If Cannon can’t play Sunday in the Patriots’ Week 5 matchup with the Cleveland Browns, Cameron Fleming likely would take his place at right tackle in New England’s starting offense.

Valentine is unlikely to play Sunday after missing two practices this week. The Patriots probably will sign a defensive tackle before Sunday. Defensive tackles Woodrow Hamilton and Anthony Johnson both are on the Patriots’ practice squad and would be the most likely candidates to join the active roster.

The media wasn’t permitted to watch the Patriots go through drills.
