Paul Evans’ Boots Inspiring Countless Others To Hike Appalachian Trail

Paul Evans never was able to fulfill his dream of hiking the Appalachian Trail, but his boots are inspiring others to do so.

Paul sadly died just two weeks before his 54th birthday. The Australian was partially packed for a trip to the Appalachian Trail, which he had researched extensively, when his heart gave out. Paul’s legacy forever will live on, though, thanks to his wife, who spread the word about his dream.

Paul’s wife contacted The Dirtbag Diaries podcast to help find Appalachian Trail hikers who could use his boots, and their producers at Duct Tape Then Beer then reached out to REI to raise awareness. Now, people who Paul never met in his life are strapping his boots to their packs and hiking sections of the Appalachian Trail.

Paul undoubtedly would be proud.
