FOXBORO, Mass. — New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski was conspicuously absent from practice Friday. Gronkowski wasn’t on the field with the rest of his teammates during the 10-minute span in which the media is allowed to view practice.

Gronkowski was limited in practice with a hamstring injury Wednesday and Thursday. He missed Weeks 1 and 2 of the 2016 season with the hamstring injury. He finally looked like himself in Week 5, when he caught seven passes for 109 yards. He was held to one catch for 11 yards in Weeks 3 and 4.

Gronkowski said before practice Thursday that he felt like himself again. The Patriots will issue an update on his status Friday afternoon in the practice participation and injury report.
