Rob Gronkowski Has Angry Fantasy Owners Yelling At Him In Grocery Stores

FOXBORO, Mass. — Rob Gronkowski probably was a first-round pick in your fantasy football league. At the very least, he almost certainly was the first tight end taken.

Gronk hasn’t lived up to that lofty draft status, however, and his fantasy owners are letting him know about it.

“I can’t even go to the grocery store without getting yelled at,” the New England Patriots tight end said Wednesday. “I’m like, ‘Why did you draft me?’ ”

Gronkowski sat out the Patriots’ first two games with a hamstring injury, and he was limited in the following two contests, catching a total of one pass for 11 yards.

We wouldn’t give up on the four-time All-Pro just yet, though, especially with Tom Brady set to return from his Deflategate suspension this Sunday in Cleveland.

Gronkowski’s only quarterback so far this season has been rookie Jacoby Brissett — the tight end was inactive for both of Jimmy Garoppolo’s starts — and Brissett isn’t in the same stratosphere as Brady when it comes to passing proficiency. A reunion with Brady should boost Gronkowski’s fantasy numbers considerably.
