Skip Bayless Thinks Tony Romo Improved After Dumping Jessica Simpson

Over the years, Tony Romo has evolved from a choke artist to one of the top quarterbacks in the game when he’s healthy.

However, FS1’s Skip Bayless doesn’t attribute any of Romo’s hard work, maturity and development to his success.

Nope.

During his show, “Undisputed”, on Thursday, Bayless said that Romo improved because he dumped Jessica Simpson way back in 2009.

“It was just tumultuous. It always one thing after another off the field,” Bayless said. “He had to pay too much attention off the field and he was not dedicating himself to the process of playing NFL quarterback.”

Everyone’s been in toxic relationships, but Bayless’ claim doesn’t really make much sense. Romo had an injury-plagued season in 2010 and then had three consecutive 8-8 seasons. His best season came in 2014 — five years after breaking up with Simpson.

Romo’s success has nothing to do with a breakup and everything to do with developing his own skills through hard work. Having the best offensive line in the league over the last three years doesn’t hurt either.
