It’s the Major League Baseball playoffs. Everyone is under immense pressure to succeed, as every decision, every inning, every at-bat, every pitch is viewed through a microscope.

Some guys have it harder than others, though. And as the Red Sox prepare to begin their 2016 postseason journey, a few folks roaming Boston’s clubhouse really need to step up.

Sure, if the Red Sox succeed in their quest for a fourth World Series title since 2004, it’ll take a total team effort. The whole is greater than the sum of its parts. But there’s no denying that certain parts are facing a ton of heat as Boston begins its playoff slate with an American League Division Series clash against the Cleveland Indians, whether it’s because of expectations, circumstance or past history.
