Tom Brady Runs For Patriots First Down, Celebrates Right In Browns’ Faces

CLEVELAND — Tom Brady used his arm to tear apart the Cleveland Browns’ defense Sunday. But he used his legs to produce what might end up being the lasting image of his triumphant return to the gridiron.

With the New England Patriots up big late in the third quarter, Brady scrambled out of the pocket and took off running on a third-and-5 from his own 30-yard line. He just barely crossed the first-down marker before an opponent shoved him out of bounds.

Brady’s exuberant celebration was well-earned. The Patriots quarterback showed no signs of rustiness in the first game following his Deflategate suspension, engineering touchdown drives on each of New England’s first three offensive possessions and never looking back.
