The 15-year-old daughter of United States olympian Tyson Gay died early Sunday morning from a shooting at a Kentucky restaurant.

According to CBS affiliate WKYT in Lexington, Ky., “the Fayette County Coroner says that Trinity Gay died from her injuries just before 5 a.m. Sunday. Lexington police say they responded to a call of shots fired at the Cook Out restaurant on South Broadway just before 4 a.m. Police say people in two cars exchanged gunfire, then drove away.”

Like her father, Trinity was an excellent track and field athlete at Lafayette High School. She also won the 100-meter race at the Tyson Gay Invitational in 2014 as a seventh-grader.

No arrests have been made in the case at this juncture. However, the WKYT report says police have identified “two persons of interest.” No charges have been filed.

We will update this story when more information becomes available.
