Talk about loyalty.

It’s not unusual for a Chicago Cubs fan to say they’ve waited their entire life to see their beloved baseball team win a World Series. After all, 108 years is a long time to wait — just ask Hazel Nilson, a 108-year-old New Hampshire woman who was born the same year as Chicago’s previous championship.

Nilson, who currently lives in Sunapee, New Hampshire, spent her childhood in Chicago near Wrigley Field. She fell in love with baseball, pulling for the Cubs ever since. Wednesday, her wishes finally came true when the Cubs defeated the Cleveland Indians 8-7 in Game 7 of the World Series.

“I never lost faith in the Cubs,” Nilson told FOX 25 Boston. “Win or lose, I love them.”
