NHL Odds: Bruins Begin Busy Slate As Home Betting Favorites Vs. Blues

The Boston Bruins will look for a fourth consecutive home win Tuesday night when they host the St. Louis Blues as -130 betting favorites at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.

Boston held an opponent to one or fewer goals for a fourth consecutive game in Saturday’s 4-1 victory over the Winnipeg Jets, lifting the club’s record to 11-7-0 ahead of Tuesday’s Blues vs. Bruins betting matchup at TD Garden.

The Bruins kicked off their recent stingy run with a 2-1 victory over the Arizona Coyotes 10 days ago, and followed up with a 2-0 win over the Colorado Avalanache before dropping a 1-0 decision to the Minnesota Wild on Thursday night. And Tuukka Rask’s stellar performance of late has rocketed him to the top of the goaltender stats with a 1.46 goals against average and 11 wins on the season.

But the Bruins face an equally hot Blues squad that is unbeaten in its past three games while holding opponents to just four total goals. The Blues’ most recent win came in a home date with Nashville on Saturday, in which they topped the Predators 3-1.

However, St. Louis has struggled away from Scottrade Center, being outscored 22-7 while losing four consecutive games, and sits fourth-worst in the league with a 2-5-1 road record this season.

Despite their road struggles, the Blues have dominated in recent visits to Boston, winning seven of their last eight there, including a 2-0 victory last December, and are 15-6 in their past 21 games overall against the Bruins.

Following Tuesday night’s contest, the Bruins will head north for a Thursday night clash with the Ottawa Senators. The Senators have lost three in a row at Canadian Tire Centre, including blowout losses in the past week to the Florida Panthers and Predators.

Of particular concern for the Senators has been their inability to generate offense on home ice, where they have failed to score more than two goals in each of their past eight games. Ottawa tallied only one goal in six of those outings, but it held opponents to two or fewer goals on four occasions en route to three victories.

The Bruins also have struggled to find the back of the net in recent visits to Ottawa, scoring once in each of their past two games there, and will look to reverse a dismal 2-6 record in their past eight games against the Senators, according to the OddsShark NHL Database.

Boston then will return home for weekend visits from the Calgary Flames and Tampa Bay Lightning. The Bruins have topped the Flames in five of their last six meetings at home, but they are winless in their last two games at home against the Lightning.
