Back-to-back games? No problem for the Boston Bruins.
The B’s didn’t have the best puck luck Sunday night, but they converted just enough offensive chances to beat the Colorado Avalanche 2-0 at Pepsi Center. It was Boston’s second road victory in two nights.
Here’s how it all went down in Denver.
IDEAL START
The Bruins drew first blood after some nifty play in the neutral zone set up David Krejci for the opening score.
Adam McQuaid started the play by passing the puck toward Kreci, who never quite got control of it. However, Ryan Spooner was there to get the loose puck and send it to David Backes. The puck became loose again after Backes touched it, but Krejci was in the perfect spot to fire a wrist shot past Semyon Varlamov.
It was Krejci’s second goal of the season, and both Backes and Spooner were credited with assists.
NO SHORTAGE OF OPPORTUNITIES
The B’s certainly had their chances to break the game wide open in the second period, but they couldn’t get anything past Varlamov.
Boston held a 23-7 advantage in shots during the second, and it also had the only man-advantage up to that point in the game when Colorado’s Erik Johnson was sent off for interference 18:21 into the period. The B’s had six shots on goal and another Torey Krug shot that went off the post just during the 1:39 of penalty time before the horn.
But Varlamov, who entered the game with putrid statistics, was on top of his game at that point.
TWO U’S, TWO K’S, THREE SHUTOUTS
Tuukka Rask came so close to earning a shutout win Saturday, but a late goal by the Arizona Coyotes ruined that. But he didn’t have to wait much longer to pick up his third shutout of the season and the 33rd of his career.
Rask by no means had an overly taxing night in net, as the B’s held a monster 45-21 advantage in shots on goal. But Boston needed him to stop everything that came his way as it struggled to convert on opportunities, and that’s exactly what he did.
Dominic Moore did add an empty-netter late to put an exclamation point on the win.

The B’s will have a few days off before they close their three-game road trip Thursday night in Minnesota against the Wild. Puck drop is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET.
