C.J. Prosise Injury: Waiver Wire Fantasy Replacements For Seahawks Running Back

The early injury news for fantasy football owners of Seattle Seahawks running back C.J. Prosise isn’t good.

It appears a regular-season return for Prosise, who hurt his shoulder in Sunday’s win over the Philadelphia Eagles, seems unlikely. There are just six more weeks left in the 2016 season, and most fantasy league playoffs end after Week 16.

Prosise did a nice job in the Seattle backfield the last few weeks, including a 72-yard touchdown run Sunday. So, how should owners replace him?

Thomas Rawls should receive an uptick in carries and production in Prosise’s absence. Rawls has battled injuries over the last year, but he’s proven to be a capable running back for the Seahawks in the past. Rawls has played in just three games in 2016, but he ran for 830 yards with four touchdowns on 5.6 yards per carry last season.

Rawls tallied 57 yards on 14 carries against the Eagles on Sunday.

The waiver wire is the next-best place to find a Prosise replacement.

New England Patriots running backs Dion Lewis and James White are worth picking up in PPR leagues. James Starks of the Green Bay Packers is back from injury and might be a good option as a flex play in deeper leagues. Chris Ivory of the Jacksonville Jaguars and Robert Kelley of the Washington Redskins are two other starting running backs who might be unowned in your league.

Either way, it’s not easy to find quality running backs at this stage of the fantasy football season.
