Cam Newton Celebrates Record-Setting Touchdown By Bringing The Dab Back

Between the crushing hits and the crushing losses, Cam Newton hasn’t had much fun this season. But the Carolina Panthers quarterback looked like his old self Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Newton flashed the dual threat ability that help him win the NFL’s Most Valuable Player Award in 2015, racking up the yards both through the air and on the ground. Early in the second quarter, Newton went into bulldozer mode, willing his way into the end zone for a 4-yard touchdown run.

Fittingly, Cam celebrated by bringing back a celebration he previously had sworn off: the dab.

Say want you want about his celebration — sorry Cam; let’s not make the dab a thing again — but there’s no denying Newton’s talent. That score marked the 27-year-old’s 47th career rushing touchdown, setting a Panthers franchise record.

Newton also became the fifth-youngest player in NFL history to reach 20,000 passing yards and is Carolina’s all-time passing touchdowns leader, as well.

When you put up those kinds of numbers, you can celebrate however you want.
