Chiefs Force Overtime On Wild Touchdown, Earn Huge Win Over Broncos

The Andy Reid clock-management jokes almost returned late in the Chiefs-Broncos game in Denver, but Kansas City made sure that didn’t happen.

Trailing by eight with 12 seconds remaining, Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith completed an apparent touchdown pass to Tyreek Hill, although the referees originally ruled he was down before the goal line.

The call was reversed to a touchdown upon further review, though, and a Kansas City two-point conversion forced overtime.

The two teams nearly played the second “Sunday Night Football” tie of the season. But after more than 14 minutes of tied extra time, the Chiefs won the game 30-27 on a Cairo Santos game-winning field goal in the closing seconds of overtime.
