The Colorado Rockies have chosen former San Diego Padres manager Bud Black to lead their club next season.

Black spent over eight seasons with the Padres, amassing a 649-713 record. He had just two seasons with above .500 records and never reached postseason play, but Black did lose a one-game playoff to the Rockies at the end of the 2007 campaign.

The Rockies, meanwhile, have not had a winning record since the 2010 season.
