Cubs Give Fans ‘Excuse Notes’ Before Game 7 Of World Series Vs. Indians

Game 7 of the 2016 World Series between the Chicago Cubs and Cleveland Indians doesn’t start until Wednesday night at 8 p.m. ET. But the Cubs think their fans might need the whole day to get ready.

Fans of teams that win championships usually look to take a day off to celebrate following the clinching game, but the Cubs’ official Twitter account supplied the team’s supporters with an excuse note for Wednesday so they can prepare for any outcome.

No word yet on whether the Cubs will provide a similar note should the Cubbie faithful need to celebrate — or mourn — on Thursday, but chances are there will be a high absence rate in Chicago after Game 7.
