Fantasy Football Week 12 Starts, Sits: Settling Toughest Lineup Decisions

Thanksgiving took two games off Sunday’s NFL slate, but plenty of football still needs to be played to finish out Week 12.

And because the fantasy football playoffs are drawing ever closer, you probably don’t want to make any wrong moves in your lineup. That’s where we come in.

Here’s our start/sit advice for Week 12.

STARTS
Russell Wilson, QB, Seattle Seahawks
Wilson was a disappointment for fantasy owners to begin the season, but he and the Seahawks have been on fire of late. The quarterback has thrown multiple touchdown passes in the past three games, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have allowed at least 21 points (in standard leagues) to opposing QBs in three of their last four games.

Thomas Rawls, RB, Seattle Seahawks
Rawls returned from a broken leg last week, and he now has been thrust into the starting role in Week 12 with fellow running back C.J. Prosise out with a broken scapula. The Bucs’ defense is allowing 114.7 rushing yards per game, so it could be a huge game for Rawls.

Jonathan Stewart, RB, Carolina Panthers
Stewart hasn’t been putting up many fantasy points this season, but it hasn’t been for lack of trying. The Panthers back still averages 18 carries per game, and that should come in handy against an Oakland Raiders defense that’s allowing 116 rushing yards per game.

DeVante Parker, WR, Miami Dolphins
Parker has seen a huge increase in his playing time, and that has resulted in 182 yards and one touchdown over his last two games. The San Francisco 49ers are allowing the most fantasy points to opposing wide receivers, so Parker is a must-start.

Will Tye, TE, New York Giants
Tye is more of a sleeper than a true starter, but if you’re looking for a tight end to stream this week, he is a solid option who should be available in most leagues. The tight end scored a touchdown against the Chicago Bears last week and has a good chance of doing it again against a bad Cleveland Browns team that’s allowing the most fantasy points to tight ends.

SITS
Andy Dalton, QB, Cincinnati Bengals
Dalton no longer has star wideout A.J. Green or pass-catching back Giovani Bernard, thanks to injuries. Not to mention, the Bengals QB is nursing a shoulder injury and facing a tough Baltimore Ravens offense, so he’s an easy sit in Week 12.

Tevin Coleman, RB, Atlanta Falcons
Coleman is set to return from a hamstring injury, only to face an Arizona Cardinals team that’s allowing the second-fewest fantasy points to running backs. He won’t have much of an impact, if at all, Sunday.

Tyrell Williams, WR, San Diego Chargers
Williams has been a solid receiver for the Chargers since they lost Keenan Allen, and he put up 125 yards and one touchdown just before San Diego’s Week 11 bye. The wideout’s worst performances came against a dominant Denver Broncos secondary, though, and the Houston Texans aren’t half-bad themselves. Add in the fact that Travis Benjamin will be back, and you have a recipe for an unproductive game from Williams.

DeAndre Hopkins, WR, Houston Texans
Hopkins’ lack of production is one of the most disappointing stories to come out of the 2016 NFL season. He hasn’t posted over 60 yards since Week 6, hasn’t scored since Week 5 and has a pretty terrible quarterback in Brock Osweiler. If you have better options at wide receiver, use them.

Jared Cook, TE, Green Bay Packers
Cook is part of a shaky Packers offense that will be up against a Philadelphia Eagles defense that has allowed just 55 yards or fewer and three total touchdowns to all opposing tight ends. If that doesn’t convince you to bench him, we don’t what will.
