Not everyone was happy after No. 2-ranked Ohio State’s thrilling 30-27 double-overtime win over No. 3 Michigan.
Wolverines head coach Jim Harbaugh called out the referees after the game, especially for a controversial spot on a fourth-down run by Buckeyes quarterback J.T. Barrett in the second overtime of Saturday’s game in Columbus, Ohio.
“I thought there were some outrageous calls, including the one that would have ended the game,” Harbaugh said, via USA TODAY Sports’ Nicole Auerbach. “I was bitterly disappointed with the officiating.”
The referees gave Barrett a first down on the run, and it was upheld by replay. But as you can see in the video below, it hardly was a sure thing, leading Harbaugh to tell Auerbach, “There wasn’t a first down.”
That call extended the game for the Buckeyes, and Curtis Samuel scored the winning touchdown on the following play.
