MLB Free Agent Tracker: Where The Top 25 Free Agents Land For 2017

Major League Baseball’s free agency period officially began at 12:01 a.m. on Tuesday, and it’s sure to be an interesting offseason.

This year’s free agent class is loaded with good bats, but it’s lacking in starting pitching, so teams in need of rotation help likely will be left scrambling. Still, there are plenty of talented players available, and we’ll be tracking where they land.

Here are the top 25 free agents with their most recent team. This list will be updated as they sign.

1. Yoenis Cespedes, OF, New York Mets: re-signed with Mets for four years, $110 million
2. Edwin Encarnacion, 1B/3B/DH, Toronto Blue Jays
3. Aroldis Chapman, RP, Chicago Cubs: reportedly signed with Yankees for five years, $86 million
4. Dexter Fowler, OF, Cubs
5. Kenley Jansen, RP, Los Angeles Dodgers
6. Ian Desmond, OF/SS, Texas Rangers: reportedly signed with Rockies for five years, $70 million
7. Wilson Ramos, C, Washington Nationals
8. Mark Melancon, RP, Nationals: signed with Giants for four years, $62 million
9. Justin Turner, 3B, Dodgers
