MLB Rumors: Mike Napoli Drawing Interest From Mariners, Indians

Mike Napoli should be a sought after free agent as the MLB hot stove heats up, and he’s reportedly drawing interest from multiple teams.

Napoli played an important role for the Indians in 2016, helping them win the AL Central division, the American League pennant and come up just a run short in Game 7 of the World Series.

The veteran first baseman batted .239 with 34 home runs and 101 RBI in 150 games for the Indians. In addition to a power bat, Napoli has plenty of postseason experience. He’s played in three World Series, winning one with the Boston Red Sox in 2013.

The Mariners are a team on the verge of postseason contention and certainly would benefit from his presence in the lineup, but he probably won’t be a cheap addition.

FOX Sports’ Ken Rosenthal reported the Houston Astros also have interest in Napoli.
